Arden's Dedicatory Prayer

Arden was blessed on Sunday (Nov. 2) at church. In case you are wondering what I am talking about, this "dedicatory prayer" as I call it, is a Mormon thing, and it is an event that babies go through soon after they are born. During this event, Priesthood holders gather around and lay their hands on Arden's head and bless her. Both of her grandfathers, Adam (her father), and her uncles made up most of the Priesthood holders that participated in this event. Here are some pictures that I took on the church grounds.

"Trunk or Treat, Everyone!"

Trunk or treat! Smell my feet! Give me something good to eat!

Every year, I attend our congregation's Trunk-or-Treat event that takes place close to Halloween. This year it was on Wednesday (Oct 29). It's called trunk-or-treat because people who choose to can decorate their car trunks with Halloween decor and give candy out to everyone who approaches their trunk in the parking lot. This year, I was feeling "young in heart" and also wanted some candy, so I decided to go trunk-or-treating along with the kids. Don't worry, there were teenagers trunk-or-treating also, so I'm not too old, really! Lol! Here are some pictures of the Halloween-decorated cars (and people) that I took.

Super Saturday

Once a year, my church hosts an arts-and-crafts activity called Super Saturday, wchich lasts about 5 hours. During this activity, the women in our congregation have the opportunity to make a craft for themselves or for someone else. This year I signed up to make the autumn-themed picture and frame craft for my mom to have and display at her house. It has real autumn leaves and text in it. A picture of it will be posted ASAP.

Visit at Dad's House

I went over to my dad's house to visit on Tuesday (Oct. 21). I visited Arden for a couple of hours. Allison took pictures of me and Arden while I was there.









I also played with Jasmine while visiting. Here are a couple of pictures that I took of her and dad. She's wearing my favorite color.

Break Out The Cigars Everyone!

I am finally an aunt! Woohoo! My new beautiful niece, Arden Olivia Lewis, was born on Sunday, October 12th at 9:41 p.m. at Greensboro Women's Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She weighed 5 pounds 10 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. Allison, Adam, and Arden Lewis are all doing well. In the picture to the left, I am holding Arden in Allison's hospital room.

178th Semiannual General Conference of the LDS Church

This past Sunday (Oct. 5) was the 178th Semiannual Geneneral Conference of the LDS Church.

Elaine S. Dalton, who is the Young Women General President, spoke about the importance of missionary work. She spoke about how missionary work doesn't just affect the people that the missionaries teach directly, but it also affects generations of people that are connected to the people being taught. I know this to be true because both my parents are converts to the LDS Church, and because of this, all 4 of us children were born into The Covenant and are active members of the Church. Future grandchildren will also be born under The Covenant.

There were other people who spoke, including President Monson, but the talk on missionary work by Sister Dalton was the most inspiring to me.
