For Christmas Eve, we were at my mom's house and had her sister Becky (my aunt) over for gift exchanges with her. Of course, my niece Arden and her family were there also. On Christmas Day, we were at my dad's house during the first half of the day. We did gift exchanges and ate lunch while there. Then we were back to mom's house that afternoon for more gift exchanges. I got to see Arden 3 days in a row while they were in town for Christmas during all this back-and-forth running from mom's house to dad's house the last few days. There weren't a whole lot of pictures taken at mom's house and I didn't get any at dad's house because my camera battery was dead and I had accientally left my camera at mom's house the night before, anyway.
I tried to find more, but apparently these are the only pictures I took at mom's house for Christmas.
I went to our church's ward Christmas party yesterday evening. We ate good food and sang Christmas carols. The activity we did was called "Remember the Lyrics", during which one person at each table would finish part of the song that everyone started singing when prompted. it was really cute and funny because some of the individuals would make up words or they just sounded funny while singing by themselves. I chose not to take my camera to this event for various reasons, and so there are not pictures of this to see, but that's okay.
This year, we went to the Lewis home (Allison's inlaws) on Thanksgiving Day. Here are some pictures of us hanging out.
The picture below is a 3-generation picture of my mom, Allison, and Arden. I think it looks funny because mom has a smile on her face with her eyes shut, lol!
There were many more pictures that I took but too many to add here. Arden's "First Thanksgiving" pictures are located under the "Arden's Firsts" posting. I took some really good "pacifier pictures". I love the brown outfit that her parents chose for her to wear.
Annual Thanksgiving Reunion at Dad's House
We had a family reunion at my dad's house on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I got to see all of my aunts and uncles and some of my cousins with their families. Here are some of the many pictures I took at the reunion.
Of course, there are many more pictures that I took but too many to put here.
Arden was blessed on Sunday (Nov. 2) at church. In case you are wondering what I am talking about, this "dedicatory prayer" as I call it, is a Mormon thing, and it is an event that babies go through soon after they are born. During this event, Priesthood holders gather around and lay their hands on Arden's head and bless her. Both of her grandfathers, Adam (her father), and her uncles made up most of the Priesthood holders that participated in this event. Here are some pictures that I took on the church grounds.
Trunk or treat! Smell my feet! Give me something good to eat! Every year, I attend our congregation's Trunk-or-Treat event that takes place close to Halloween. This year it was on Wednesday (Oct 29). It's called trunk-or-treat because people who choose to can decorate their car trunks with Halloween decor and give candy out to everyone who approaches their trunk in the parking lot. This year, I was feeling "young in heart" and also wanted some candy, so I decided to go trunk-or-treating along with the kids. Don't worry, there were teenagers trunk-or-treating also, so I'm not too old, really! Lol! Here are some pictures of the Halloween-decorated cars (and people) that I took.
